DISCLAIMER: EVEN THOUGH THIS BOOK WAS SENT TO ME BY THE AUTHOR FOR REVIEW, MY OPINIONS AND THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK WAS NOT IN ANY WAY BIASED OR MANIPULATED.
The Winter Lord is a man like no other. He rules the world together with the Summer Lady, the Autumn Lord and the Lady of Spring. That alone says that the Winter Lord is the wrong man to fall in love with, but Dawn loves him anyway.
The last thing Dawn expects is to be placed inside the Winter Lord’s prison because of a minor dispute. When he visits her and asks her to marry him, Dawn knows that nothing will ever be the same again. Her entire world is put into a spin, but soon, she realizes that things aren’t as they should be. The Winter Lord is hiding something, and when the truth is revealed, she understands that only one thing can save her life …
CHARACTERS. At first, there is a lot of confusion. How were the Ladies and Lords born and other things. We have the main character named Dawn who is like a non-royal commoner in Evermore. We also have the elders who seem like gods but I guess they aren’t, they are Audren, The Winter Lord, Aura, The Summer Lady, Onyx, The Autumn Lord , and Seva, The Lady of Spring. They’re all from different realms chosen to come to this world to rule and change things. They all have super cool powers. I had some issues with Dawn’s character and the thing with her mom. She just seemed to be a weak character and lacked confidence and drive to do things. She was just too timid and shy. There were times I found it annoying. This book needed more character development.
PLOT/WORLD-BUILDING. At first, I was too fascinated to even care where the four elders came from but it would have been nice to have a little background from the start. That would have cleared out any future confusions. It was interesting and refreshing to read something new. I felt there could have been so much more to this book if the author would take the time to polish the world she created and maybe create more perspective for each character so the readers will be able to connect more. But I do want to live in Evermore. It seems like a fantastic place. Again, more development is needed.
WRITING STYLE. No two authors have the same writing style. This style somehow appeals to teenagers rather than adults because of the language and words chosen. It doesn’t seem like a sci-fi fantasy read, the author blends it all so wonderfully together. This was a fantastic love story and the way the characters and the setting was very engaging but again more development.
FINAL VERDICT. It’s a decent read. A good sci-fi fantasy love story is definitely hard to pull off. But this book could actually do it if only the author took more time to develop and plan everything out. This book could have been the best of it’s kind! (yes, I didn’t talk about the erotic scenes because we’re trying to keep this PG lol but yeah those scenes were hot and steamy with a gentleness that I don’t understand)
